Dear GPACAC Members,

Thank you for your contributions to a fantastic year! I would like to take this time to share with you a few GPACAC highlights from 2018.

2018 Highlights
  • We currently have 340 active GPACAC members. We are hoping to grow our membership in 2019 through our strong network and outreach because of the work our members do each day to promote our organization.

  • Our GPACAC/MOACAC Conference last April in Kansas City was a huge success!  We had 370 conference attendees (170 were GPACAC members) and provided solid breakout sessions and a wonderful keynote speaker, Rob Franek from The Princeton Review.

  • GPACAC donated $1400 to the NACAC Imagine Grant fund. A portion of that donation was made possible through the $5.00 donation from each conference registration.

  • GPACAC got a face lift!  We hope everyone has enjoyed the new logo and color scheme, which is showcased not only on our website but through our enhanced newsletters and correspondence.

  • We were pleased by the wonderful turnout at our GPACAC Business Meeting at the NACAC Annual Conference in Salt Lake City in September.  We had 57 GPACAC members in attendance and everyone enjoyed the opportunity to connect with old and new colleagues and friends.

  • Finally, we are continuing to grow our leadership within the organization.  We have on-boarded new committee members and are training vice chairs as well.  In addition to the seventeen executive board members, we have close to 40 committee members.  We hope you will consider sharing your talents in a leadership capacity in 2019.

Your GPACAC executive board has been hard at work this semester as well.  In addition to planning events and providing resources and support, we have been collaborating as a team. The executive board met on November 7, 2018 in Overland Park, KS. During our business meeting we discussed the fiscal budget, transition to Strive Scan, government relations updates (as we met the day after the elections!), and programming for the upcoming year. I am incredibly grateful for the vision and leadership of our team and look forward to continuing the work we do in the new year.

I hope the upcoming break provides an opportunity for you to enjoy the company of friends and family, reflect on the many blessing in your personal and professional life, and recharge in preparation for the second half of the academic year.  Thank you for the work you do!

Best wishes in 2019,
