GPACAC 2012 Student Scholarships: To qualify for a scholarship, students need to: - be a May/June 2012 high school graduate - attend high school in Nebraska, Kansas, or Oklahoma - have an ACT Composite score of 21 - 28 or SAT equivalent. - have a cumulative high school grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent)
- Attach an original essay on the topic provided (500 word maximum) - Request that your counselor supply an official copy your transcript, including GPA and ACT and/or SAT - Submit and send all requested materials by the February 15, 2012 deadline - CLICK HERE to Access the Online Application! (Scholarship Deadline has passed) Essays will be judged on content, originality, and grammar. The academic section will be viewed as supportive documentation. Applications and all materials must be postmarked by February 15, 2012. Winners and their counselors will be notified in April. Counselors of scholarship recipients will be offered a registration fee waiver to attend the GPACAC-MOACAC Spring Conference (April 2012) in Overland Park, Kansas. The Great Plains Association for College Admission Counseling (GPACAC) is a tri-state/regional organization serving high school counselors and college admissions professionals in the states of Kansas, Nebraska, and Oklahoma. Dedicated to encouraging, advocating, and facilitating equal access to post-secondary education, GPACAC fosters communication among students, families, and colleges/universities. GPACAC is one of 23 affiliates of the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC). Consistent with our mission, GPACAC is offering three non-renewable $1,000 scholarships for students graduating from high school in May/June 2012. One winner from each GPACAC member state - Nebraska, Kansas, and Oklahoma - will receive the one-time award. The scholarship will be issued to the college or university in which the student has enrolled.
