President's Message

GPACAC President’s message | January 2012

As we begin a new year, we begin with a change in leadership.  Our president, Michelle Lockhart, has moved to a new position out of the GPACAC membership area, so I will be filling in as president for her until the spring conference.  GPACAC will be very busy this semester.  Watch your mail and email for information on the following:

                                             - GPACAC annual conference, April 15-17
  •                                              - College Fairs
  •                                              - Scholarships
                                                 - Professional development

This is also the time of year that we look for future GPACAC leaders.  Consider becoming involved with GPACAC as an officer, committee chair, or committee member.  The rewards associated with these positions far outweigh the time spent.  If you have questions about duties, please call or email me.  We also would like your input for our annual awards.  You can find past winners on our website at http://www.gpacac.net/history.

The GPACAC board values your opinion and recommendations regarding other professionals.  Please consider giving your input before our annual conference.

Rising Star—awarded to a professional with no more than 5 years of experience who has made significant contributions to the organization and has demonstrated a commitment to professionalism and GPACAC/NACAC leadership potential.

Distinguished Service
---awarded to an individual who has provided outstanding service to students, to the admission profession and to the goals of the organization.

Burge Spirit Award—awarded to a member whose enthusiasm and creativity have been an inspiration and contributed to the camaraderie in the association.

We are looking forward to a great spring semester!  Hope to see you at one of our GPACAC sponsored events!
