GPACAC recently received a NACAC Imagine Grant to assist in funding the registration for one participant to NACAC’s Guiding the Way to Inclusion (GWI) Workshop this summer in Atlanta, GA. The GPACAC Executive Board has agreed to fund one additional participant. Preference will be given to college/university members who have 1 - 5 years of experience and work with students from multicultural or disadvantaged backgrounds. GPACAC had two members attend last summer’s conference and they gave the program fantastic reviews. This grant funding presents a wonderful opportunity for rich professional development of our younger members. I encourage to visit www.nacacnet.org to learn more about GWI.
If you wish to apply for grant funding, please read the information below thoroughly and do the following:
1. Secure a commitment from your institution to fund the additional expenses related to the workshop (travel to and from Atlanta, and hotel for approx. 2 nights)
2. Make sure your GPACAC and NACAC memberships are current (the grants will only cover the registration fee of NACAC members – if a non-member your institution would be responsible for the additional charge)
3 Email me with an explanation of your admission responsibilities as they pertain to multicultural students, why you want to attend the workshop, and how you would bring your experience back to the GPACAC membership.
Deadline is April 26th, 2010. Recipients will be notified by mid May.
