(Brief committee descriptions are listed below): Admission Practices Educates the membership on ethical issues involved in college counseling and handles all complaints concerning violations of NACAC’s Statement of Principles of Good Practice (SPGP). Membership Keeps the records for the association and initiates activities to increase and strengthen membership. Annual Conference Assists in planning the annual spring conference. Subcommittees include: exhibitors, program sessions, local arrangements, registration, social, pre-conference, and more. Human Relations Assists the association in issues related to increasing college access to underserved populations. The committee also helps administer GPACAC grants and coordinates the annual scholarships. Communications Assists with the quarterly newsletter, and works to increase GPACAC’s name recognition and publicity efforts. College Fairs Each site coordinates the local arrangements for the fair and seeks local funding. Nominating Works with the past president in finding and presenting a slate of officers for approval at the annual conference. Solicits nominations and selects annual award recipients. Professional Development Assists state coordinators with local events and coordinates Tools of Trade Program. Fund Development Works in creating new revenue sources and seeks corporate/individual sponsorships for GPACAC events and priorities. Government Relations Maintains contact with state legislators, watches bills affecting counselors and higher education, and educates the association on legislative issues in our region. Technology Maintains e-list, GPACAC website, and other informational technology. |
